On 13–14 October, representatives from different industries will gather in Rome for SAP for Manufacturing, Materials & Mining. ForestX will be there together with customers and industry peers to discuss how digitalization, optimization and AI can contribute to the development of the industry.
One of the conference sessions will feature Pfeifer Groups presentation on how the company has developed its materials handling with the help of SAP and Optinex. At the same time, ForestX will highlight the development of Optinex and how AI can create new opportunities for planning and optimization in the sawmill industry.
Pfeifer shares its experience of SAP and Optinex
On 14 October, Stefan Hammerl, Head of Group IT at Pfeifer, will present the session “From complexity to clarity: Transforming timber operations with SAP Segmentation”.
Sawn timber presents specific challenges for materials handling and enterprise systems. Individual packages may contain products of different lengths, grades and quantities – something that traditional ERP structures cannot always handle efficiently.
In its presentation, Pfeifer will explain how it has developed a way of working with SAP Segmentation and Optinex to better reflect the realities of timber production.
The presentation will focus on experience, business benefits and how a more intelligent digital foundation can contribute to future growth and standardisation.
ForestX develops Optinex with AI
ForestX will also be in Rome to meet industry peers and discuss the future of digital solutions for the wood industry.
A key part of ForestX’s development work is Optinex, the company’s cloud-based planning and optimisation solution for sawmills and the wood-processing industry. Optinex helps companies manage complex production flows, optimise resource utilisation and make better-informed decisions.
ForestX is now taking the next step by developing Optinex AI Agent – an AI-based feature designed to make it easier to interact with and benefit from the advanced optimisation in Optinex.
By combining industry knowledge, advanced optimisation and AI, ForestX aims to create new opportunities for sawmills to make planning more efficient and develop their operations.
During the conference, ForestX will share its thoughts on how AI can complement existing business systems and contribute to more intelligent, data-driven production.
A meeting place for the industry of the future
Representing ForestX, Carl Barck and Johan Eriksson will attend. They look forward to meeting representatives from SAP and the industry to exchange experiences and discuss the opportunities offered by digital transformation.
