When Johanna Sahlén from Örnsköldsvik joins ForestX, decades of hands-on operational expertise come with her.
Johanna Sahlén has previously worked in a range of roles at Holmen. Everything from production and logistics to business development has been part of her responsibilities.
– Among other things, I’ve worked as a supervisor for a hauling crew, as a production manager with delivery responsibility, and as a business developer, she says.
Johanna Sahlén is based in Örnsköldsvik and becomes ForestX’s first employee in the city. With players such as Sveaskog, SCA, Holmen, Norra Skog and Nätraälven on site, it is an important hub for the Swedish forest industry.
The combination of operational work and development has been central throughout her career. In her development roles, the focus has been on long-term improvements and systems development. Solid experience from the operations has been a strong foundation;
– The work becomes more enjoyable when you understand the needs and can see what improvements you can achieve.
Johanna Sahlén sees great opportunities for ForestX to contribute to the digitisation of forestry.
– Everyone at ForestX has different specialist expertise, and together we form a complete whole. We have system architects and developers working alongside colleagues with a forestry background; what a combination!
Within ForestX, the range of potential clients grows, and assignments can also be international. Today, ForestX has several well-known forestry and sawmill companies in Sweden and across Europe as customers.
– In my new role at ForestX, I’m looking forward to using my knowledge to develop IT solutions for the forestry sector.
But regardless of assignment, customer or country, one goal stands above all;
– What we develop should aim to streamline processes and be as user-friendly as possible, says Johanna Sahlén.
